About This Series

From Emmy-nominated executive producer Issa Rae, "Rap Sh!t" follows two estranged friends from Miami who reunite to form a rap group. Stuck in a dead-end job and itching for change, conscious rapper Shawna connects with former friend Mia, a single mom-slash-make-up artist with multiple side hustles -- and together they chase viral fame. Joined by promoter/manager Chastity and aspiring producer Lamont, the pair navigate the murky waters of stardom while managing their personal lives -- all through the omnipresent lens of social media. Co-executive produced by hip-hop duo City Girls, this relatable comedy follows Shawna and Mia as they attempt to make their mark on the music industry without compromising who they are.
